Reading a Saab VIN
Saab ceased car production in 2011, so every Saab VIN is 2011 or earlier. YS3 is the passenger-car prefix from Trollhättan. Two oddities: the 9-2X was a rebadged Subaru Impreza and the 9-7X a rebadged Chevrolet TrailBlazer, so those carry Subaru and GM VIN structures rather than YS3.
